Resetti is awesome. I made sure to fund his reset center so that when I eventually get bored enough I'll reset the heck out of this game and see what he says. :D

Why does he keep saying things like that...? Stop it, Zell!

Image

I feel there should be more dancing happening right now.
Okay, that's a little better.

Image

Zell, you have no idea...

Image

I... Can I just say something, guys?

The shyness emote is used so often in this game...and it makes comments like this seem so much worse!

Image

I can't help it, Freya! Game Logic 101: Check cabinets!

Image

I have to wonder what kind of thing humans let off that would cause someone to be allergic to them...

Image

Dream World time. Went to a random Japanese town. Felt pretty uninspired though, but I did like seeing the cherry blossoms.

Image

Heh.

Image

They have a rafflesia... This only appears if your town is utterly disgusting. Yyyeaaahhh... I'm gonna leave this dream world...

Image

Zell... You do realize you are one of the most flea-bitten villagers I've met, right?

And now, some conversations...

Zell hits on Katt (Ah, so he swings both ways). Katt doesn't approve.

Katt ends up walking away really pissed off. I think Zell needs a different approach here...

Rare treat indeed. It's hard enough to find a single conversation, let alone two back to back.

((OOC: Today's question: Your thoughts on Time Travelling?

This is a hot button topic on some boards... Personally, I can't stand it. It really ruins the integrity and the spirit of the game!
But hey, if you do that, I can't really stop you. Just don't come crying to me when you have "nothing to do."

A game like this is meant to be played in short bursts, not a marathon session! But that's just me...

Image

Ooo, this sounds like fun! Looking forward to it.

Image

Holy cow!! Did you know that a shopping center...has shopping carts?!? I GOTTA get in on this!!

Image

Blaire apparently used to sing...on this rather interestingly named show...

Image

Sometimes, fame is too much...

Image

Wait..."New hairstyle?" Huh?

Image

My plaza tree is so big now, I can sit under it!

Image

And then your achievement progress flies by! Like, here, it shows all of my current town residents.

Image

Then we get ourselves a timetable. For some of you, I'm sure June 11th was the best day of this year...

Image

Have I really only had four visitors? I really need to open this gate more...

...Assuming people even want to visit...

Image

Who doesn't like chairs? They're comfy and easy to sit in.

Image

But...that's, like, 90% of every kind of furniture out there...

You sure they weren't talking about, y'know, literal wolves standing on four legs?

Image

Heh... You should see the basement. It'd make you scream in terror...

Image

Well, it is a lawn after all...

Image

Yes, nothing says "classy" like some Saturday night fever.

Image

Image

The ladies can't resist a good musical instrument it seems.

Image

That's, like, the fourth or fifth resident that suggested the idea of moving in... I am seriously thinking this was a thing in early development now.

Image

Extra leg room is nice, I guess...

Image

Hey, it ain't called a "love seat" for nothin... ♥

Image

Learn something new about the others every day. So Katt's a hogger...

Image

Image

Eeee! Someone thinks I'm fabulous!

...By which, I hope she doesn't mean, like, "Zell-level" fabulous. I don't want to even touch that...

Image

I love these warm fuzzies I get, sometimes...

Image

What the...?
Someone is ACTUALLY using the benches I built?!

Image

Seems Katt just needed to rest for a while due to the extreme heat we have going...

Image
Image

It's the little things like this that make me love this game...
I decided to sit next to Katt for a few minutes, and we looked at each other and she smiled the whole time I stayed there.

Next up, Freya and Bud discuss smoothies...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

They don't seem to appreciate my epic workout routine of just "bouncing off the walls like I'm in an insane asylum".

...Freya and Bud decided to have another chat not long after.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Well, that was amusing.

Image

Uh oh... What's happening between Zell and Gabi?

Image

Zell seems genuinely upset by this...

Image

Image

Oh god, Zell's doing it again...

Image

...What?

Image

As egotistic as that sounds...she makes a point.

Image

Image

Well...that got resolved quickly.

((OOC: Today's Question: Do you use the "swimming trick" to obtain new projects?

For a long while, I just let projects come to me naturally...but I feel it's been way too long since I've ever had a goal to set towards so I decided to test out this little "trick", hence the wet suit in almost every shot.

What it involves is swimming to the farthest corner of your map and sitting there for about 5 minutes, then coming back. You're pretty much guaranteed to get at least one villager to run up to you with an expression that shows they have something they desperately want to say. Usually, it'll involve things like changing catchphrases or asking personal questions, but eventually, you'll get a new project, though you can only get one a day.

Unfortunately, luck didn't shine for me today... I'll try again tomorrow.

Firstly, let me just point out how crazy the flowers have bloomed here. This is by Zell's house. There is still a crap load in his backyard!

Image

Image

Gabi resists her ancestors' inner urges to munch on leaves.

Image

Gabi is so full of herself. I just wrote her a "Welcome to Nuvema" letter here.

Image

Image

Huh... So Kabuki used to be in the rural area? Learn something new everyday...

Didn't do much in Nuvema so decided to take a quick peak at Knack's place in Dipdoop.

Image

...Well, this is a bit frightening...

Image

Bunnie, you have no idea how true that statement is. It's almost scary!

Image

And ended my trip to see the differences between the two police stations.

((OOC: Today's Question: How do you feel about your town layout?

After visiting and seeing other towns, personally, I'm a bit disappointed with how mine looks. While the river is very interesting, I can't seem to find much room to put PWPs on.

Though this may be another case of "Grass is always Greener"...

Honeybee

Be sure to catch these guys or else you'll have to wait quite a while before they appear again.

Now then... Let's go adventure!))

Zell's getting deep about life... Maybe he's finally come to the realization that he is being too adventurous with those letters.

Image

W-What?! Gabi! I thought we had something special!!

Image

On the contrary, Bud...

Image

Okay, why does every house need an exercise machine? You want me to build a gym for you or something?

Image

Gabi feels the pain of buying from Redd.

Image

Image

Image

Image

...Keep on trying there, Bud...

Image

Do you do that little turn too, Tammi?

Image

You guess? Would you like me to put it back?

Image

Haha! Do we have a little rivalry going on here?

Image

Oh gosh, not again...

Image

Man oh man...

You know, she was thinking about moving on the 28th...and yet, here she remains. I think I can guess why she decided to stay without telling anyone...

Image

Kabuki, are you being paranoid?

Image

...Nah, just deep.

Image

Zell is being hipster again. Everyone naturally flocks to me, but he stays off in his own little area because, apparently, liking the mayor is too mainstream.

Image

JEEZ!! And I thought the pyramid was pricey... I honestly didn't know PWPs go this high!

Later, Goldie invites me to her house...

Image

Image

...She can't take a hint...

Image

Wanted to see how this Pro design I've been hanging onto for the past little while looked up close. Looks pretty spiffy. Will probably replace the design later with something more related to the theme of Nuvema in the future.

((OOC: Today's Question: How many designs did you download via the QR Machine?

I've collected quite a few. I've got a huge set of complicated paths that I'll probably never use because I don't want to create a path slave as well as some shirt designs that might get worn once or twice. And, of course, there's that face cutout I just posted today.

The Final Photo of the Day: Me wearing a Mii Mask.))

My town layout is a mixed bag. My river is nicely placed though it's not really that dynamic and interesting, and I have 4 lakes that make placing new PWPs difficult. My beach is also pretty narrow. Overall my town feels more cramped and less interesting than other towns I've seen thanks to the weird rock and lake placement.

I think I've downloaded a few path designs but none of them are really to my liking. I'll be making my own path design. I almost want to get real ambitious and do a 12 piece path with inner and outer corner pieces, but that'd require two paths slaves.

Freya, give it a break. The flower girl passed away.

So, I recently got the cat tank and cat cap at the Able Sisters. They all said it was unisex.

I am NOT stinky! I take a bath at least once a month!

Tammi has decided to move. I figured it was only right to say goodbye.

Got this little conversation when speaking with Ol' Lyle. Obviously, Nook isn't in charge of the retail chain anymore, but it's nice to see he is at least a wee bit concerned for the little guys' well beings.

That being said...Nook, how are they in direct competition with you? You are real estate, they are retail. If anything, a partnership would actually benefit you guys! THINK!

Image

This is pretty funny to me simply because my family used to say stuff like that all the time.

Image

Got a QR Code of a Melynx from Monster Hunter since it looked a bit more masculine with the hood. Too bad the colour's off...and it's a long sleeved shirt.

Image

Looks like not everyone was thrilled by the news of Tammi moving...

Image

Uh oh... Seems Katt caught a cold.

Image

Uhhh... Care to explain how you know how cherry shoe polish tastes like? Actually, no, I don't want to know...

Image

There is a fireworks show every Sunday this month. Pretty!

Image

Isabelle gave me these...strange antenna things. Not so pretty.

Image

Redd...what are you suggesting?

Image

...That just happened.

August 5th

So Tammi moved on. I got a letter like you always do, but this was different.

It had a present.

Image

It was her photo.

I didn't really care that much for her, but this actually gave me such feels...

Image

Doc has been watching Shark Week, I think...

Image

Who are you calling LITTLE?!

...And HAPPY!?

I finally got my second mannequin! I have a neat idea for this one. There's two more left for me to collect.

...You know, I think Katt has actually gotten worse...

Built the tower. Looks snazzy.

((OOC: Nintendo Direct today revealed something of interest...

The Animal Crossing Plaza!

It's essentially an Animal Crossing-esque version of WaraWara Plaza on the Wii U, which lets you see tags of certain villagers and upload screenshots and QR Codes as well.

I shall give my impressions in the future.

--------------

UPDATE: Okay, got to try it out.

It's...cute, but I feel it could've been better.

One on hand, it's great to be able to upload all the screenshots I have been taking in the game onto Miiverse and get some more like-minded reactions. Seeing someone shout that my Dewott board was awesome gave me the warm fuzzies.

It's also neat to learn about the birthdays of several characters, even the "important" NPCs. For example, Isabelle's is on December 20th, making her a Sagittarius (just like me!) and Bud and Leif actually share a birthday on August 8th (which reminds me, I need to find a present for tomorrow...).

But it still feels like it is lacking things...

For one, there are a LOT of villagers that show up in the plaza...and it's quite likely you might not find a single one from your own town. This is a bit of a problem because, when you click on your Mii in this plaza, you can put up certain settings, including displaying what animal is your favourite. However, I could not spy Gabi or Freya anywhere... It would be nice if there was a "search" feature for specific villagers so you can tag your posts with them or list them as your favourite.

There also doesn't seem to be that much to do...but then again, being a 150MB file, I didn't expect that much.

It also takes a very long time for your SD Card to get read by the Wii U. Or maybe it's because I literally have over 700 pictures from this game...

I would also like there to be a way to upload Pro Designs efficiently as well. As it stands, you can upload simple patterns (like flags and paths) but a Pro design, which requires 4 QR Codes, require 4 uploads, which is rather inconvenient. I would very much like to share my Felyne and Dewott designs with the world, but four separate posts is silly.

So...feelings is that it's pretty cute, but needs a lot of tweaking.))

So I just got this letter from Dizzy

Quote:
Oh, Roaan!
I had this really scary dream last night. You disappeared from our town! Roaan, promise me you'll never leave. You have to stay here forever!
Promise! From Dizzy

Clearly Nintendo was preparing for the inevidable release of Mario & Luigi Dream Team.

I guess I'll have to stop by my town every now and again inbetween THE BEST GAME EVER.

Hey, so, I've actually been keeping an eye on this thread. It's really entertaining, and darn if I didn't admit it helped me choose this game for myself. Not that I needed any help, mind you...

So, I guess I'll put my information here and stuff.

Pikmanipulator
Name: Bret
Town: Wescoast
Fruit: Pears
Palm: [unknown]
Ordinance: none
3DS Friend Code: 5171-9907-0547

And now for my gameplay pics. Shame that you don't seem to have the diary like you did in the first game, so I guess taking pics is the next best thing for keeping records.

August 11th
Spoiler: click to show
So I got the game as an early birthday present. For those wondering, my birthday is the 13th. Right off the bat, the villager who appears on the title screen is none other than Gabi. Neat coincidence.

Image
Hoo boy. I didn’t think I’d become Mayor through a simple misunderstanding, but it happened.

Image
Oh, really? ‘Cause I’m kind of stick-thin.

Image
It’s not like I’m in the shoes of Mike Haggar, is it?

Image
Then how do you know I’m supposed to be buff in the first place?!

Image
Argh! A present on a balloon and I can’t reach it!

Image
Agent S, one of the more uniquely-named residents in Wescoast.

Image
I take a break inside my tent and come out to find Pete the postman. After explaining how my mailbox works, I find a letter inside. It turns out that it’s from the guy who was supposed to be Mayor in my place. He’s now happy to leave the job to me. Cheapskate!

Let’s see how much it will cost to get my house built.

Image
Huh. That’s about 10,000 more than I've got.

Image
…Really. You sure it’s your heart you’re describing?

In an effort to make Bells, I start shaking trees all over the place, hoping something valuable will fall out. A valuable lesson drops out of one: be wary of beehives. Luckily, there’s a house nearby that I dive into.

Image
It’s the house of Peaches. It’s…got a flavor to it.

Image
Ehh, actually…

Image
Queenie gave me this icy shirt in return for sharing an opinion on her shirt. It’s all right, but I prefer my blue-striped tee, as it looks pretty much exactly like a T-shirt I once owned and liked before I cut it up and donated its rags to my painting class in college (to be fair, the shirt was already paint-splotched by then). Also, I found a watermelon table.

Image
Decided to check out the museum. Whoa, they've got…a rafflesia in here… I know that this only appears in your town if the town is utterly disgusting. Does that mean this museum is utterly disgusting?

Later, Peaches tells me about her love of writing...

Image
Image
Image
…Whaaa?

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Huh. Looks like Queenie’s just like Blaire. I added the last picture in that conversation just to be different from B-Man.

Image
I bought a bed from Re-Tail, which I will now sleep on until the fireworks show tonight. Gaze upon the awesome layout of my tent.

Image
So the show is on, and Isabelle gave me some light-thingies to wear on my head. So tell me, do I shine like the stars?

What’s everyone up to during this festival?

Image
Image
I had to look up borscht after reading this. Turns out it’s some kind of soup made with either beetroots or tomatoes. I’d be down with this.

Image
Checking Cole’s drawer…

Image
Indeed, I am here. Baboom.

Image
Me with the fountain firework.

Image
…That just happened.

Image
Me, gleefully lighting a roman candle.

Image
But then…

Image
I couldn't move while the roman candle was still flaring, so the thing suckered me.

Image
Image
Aw, looks like Agent S is a romantic.

Image
Don’t look at me. I just got here.

Won a prize at Redd’s prize cookie stand. It’s something called an Ultra Machine.

Image
It…shoots balls…and that’s about it. A little less “ultra” than I imagined it to be.

Now to go to sleep with this mosquito bite.

August 12th
Spoiler: click to show
Second day of playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf. What will happen today?

Image
Oh, right… I’m the mayor…

So apparently before I can assume my responsibility, I have to earn the approval of the residents. That, and get a house made. Looks like I've got some work to do.

Firstly, I wrote a letter to each and every resident thanking them for welcoming me the other day, even if it was under strange circumstances. Hopefully Agent S doesn't mind that I used mushroom paper for her letter, since Isabelle only gave me 4 sheets of plain paper.

Found Saharah in the plaza. As I remember, she sells flooring and wallpaper, but she couldn't do business with me because…

Image
The sting of truth.

Image
Seems like a new resident is moving in. Good sign, since there are only 5 other residents so far. (This is probably when Zell moved in in B-Man’s game.)

Image
Hazel, huh? Is that a squirrel? Sounds like a squirrel. I already have a squirrel. Agent S. Which probably stands for “Squirrel”.

Image
Ooh, I got something to look forward to.

Image
Bought a shovel yesterday, net today. Time to rake in the Bells a new way.

Image
I think I now understand what Cole’s all about: food.

Found Agent S at the museum.

Image
Wonder how that would affect history…?

So Peaches had a craving for pears and had me get one for her, though I don’t see how she couldn't have gotten one herself. They grow all over the place here. Later on, she asked me to get a Raja B. butterfly, and I happened upon one just seconds after talking to her. My rewards? A wagon wheel and a kiddy stereo.

Image
Look at this majesty of a tent. You couldn't find a snazzier tent if you tried.

Image
Image
Image
I totally feel you, Queenie.

Image
Steampunk glasses! For the nerdier sort of punk.

Image
I don’t think “historical” is the word I’m looking for…

Image
Bugs netted me a fortune! All 10,000 Bells have been paid!

Image
Oh, Agent S. You so witty.

Image
Just in case there was any doubt that Boone is this town’s Bud.

Image
Drat! Still can’t get it!

In other news, Boone’s been trying to get a lot of furniture today because he claims his house is empty. He bought a weeping fig from Re-Tail this morning after some encouragement from me, and later on he wanted me to give him one of my furniture. I was about to give him the watermelon table (I got a fireworks table as a wifi gift earlier) when I remembered the wagon wheel that Peaches gave me, which would fit the wild-west theme of his house. So I gave him that and he liked it. My reward? A spunky knit shirt. It doesn't look too bad on me.

Then I pay Cole a visit and he says he has something to deliver to Boone, but can’t make it because he’s too hungry to move. He’s in his house, for Pete’s sake! Just grab something from the fridge…

Image
Uh… Cole? The fridge is for food!

So I deliver the package to Boone and he unwraps it to reveal a scarecrow, which he also really likes. Maybe he intends to use it as a practice dummy?

In any case, that should satisfy his urge for more furniture for now. I got a papa bear from him in return, which I have no room in my tent for.

Image
And lastly, I changed my town’s tune. Thank goodness, because it sounded like a random jumble of notes before. At least Animal Crossing on the Gamecube had a starting tune that sounded passable, or was that just a random coincidence?

Anyway, here’s my new town tune. It’s based on Edison’s theme from Project Dream, a beta Rareware game that was eventually redeveloped into Banjo-Kazooie. Or if you want to be more real about it, it’s based on this piece from Viva Piñata.

I think some of your pictures are broke.

And, I like the idea of buff mayors.

Agent S seems like a pretty fun resident.

((OOC: I approve of your Project Dream tune. Lots of good stuff there. I feel a sort of flattery in regards to how you decided to post screenshots. It's almost like you're a successor or something now...haha!

Good to have another mayor. ESPECIALLY one who actually posts stuff!

PS. You're definitely right about Hazel. That's definitely a squirrel.
A squirrel that got quite a bit of attention for a while for her...unique appearance.

Also, it says today is your birthday (Happy Birthday) so I certainly hope you bring us some cool pictures of what happens when the mayor has a birthday! Mine is still a few months away so I'm not sure what to expect.))

All right, here's the big day, and what a big day it is!

August 13
Spoiler: click to show
Today's my birthday, and when I step outside, Peaches is standing right there.

Image
Can it wait? I'm in my socks!

Inside Peaches's house...

Image
Image
Only three days in this town and folks still want to celebrate my birthday. Nice people.

You actually type out what to make your wish for.

Image

Image

Image
You know, being totally new here, I wouldn't have held it against them if they hadn't gotten me anything. But expectations are made to be exceeded (or let down, but not in this case).

Image
Image
Like all good presents.

Image
Image
All right, Peaches. I'll place my trust in you.

Image
It's a good goal in my opinion.

Image
Image
I bet you were a credit to the construction, Boone!

Image
I knew you would say something like that, Cole.

Image
Actually, I did have plans for my birthday IRL, but my parents being at work for most of the day kind of cut them off. Also, my sister and I oddly couldn't find any showtimes for Pacific Rim.

Image
Hey, just you wait until your birthday!

Image
Exactly!

Image
Image
...Yeah... A year's supply...

Image
Hey, I can be altruistic sometimes!

Image
Well, they can all pitch in, certainly...

Image
Speaking of that present, I decided to open it up during the party. Turns out it's...

...a barber's pole?

...

I love it! Thanks, guys!

(Remember: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.)

Image

Image
Image
You're a pal, Peaches.

Image

Image
I return to my house to find it to be just that: a house. The remodeling happened overnight.

Image
Isabelle visits just to congratulate me...and give me my first wallpaper. Paw-print-style.

Image
My house as it looks at the moment. As you can see, it's pretty much the same size as my tent, which is a bit of a disappointment.

Image
Meeting Hazel, the new neighbor who is a female squirrel with a uni-brow. Unique indeed.

Image
What? Really?

Image
...Really! I knew that word had spread about me, but I heard it was mostly about me being a "freshman mayor".

Image
So people say I'm a freshman mayor, but I have potential? That's...nice.

Image
Seriously? Her catchphrase is "uni-wow"?!

I'm gonna have a uni-cow if that catches on...

Image
Whoa, what, really?! Just yesterday morning it was 17 percent! Good feelings sure can climb!

So now I've accomplished both prerequisites for holding office. Now I just have to wait for the contract to go through, I guess.

Now for how much it will take to expand my house...

Image
Humph. Just as I suspected. A lot.

Image
Image
Oh my. First time somebody's asked to visit my home. Can't promise she'll be impressed, but okay.

Image
Well. She likes it. Who knew?

Image
Uhh, yeah! Let's go with that.

Image
In this position, Peaches looks kind of motherly.

Image
Yeah, you gave it to me, remember?

Image
Yeah...once I get some music.

Well, that wasn't a bad first visit. I gotta say, I was a little weirded out by Peaches's appearance at first, but after all that's just happened, I think she's taken a shine to me, and I her.

Image
Image
You mean Hazel? She's already here, dude. Why don't you go say hi?

Image
Don't worry, Queenie. I haven't been here long enough to form much of an attachment to anything yet.

Image
I can only hope!

Image
Good advice.

Image
Whoa, really?

Image
Sure thing, bud.

Image
Image
Well... He knows you better than I do, that's for certain.

Image
I'm sure she will, Cole. Though I have to wonder what the fight was about in the first place...

Image
Me fishing with my new rod. Also wearing my spunky knit shirt.

Image
Image
I thought you had a wild-west-themed house. Lemme guess... You already had one?

Image
I bought the desert cactus off Boone. Too bad I have no need for it myself (or room, for that matter).

Image
Hey, at least this way it will be advertised under my name and not Boone's, so Agent S won't suspect anything.

Image
By the way, the other day Agent S came up to me, wanting me to change her catchphrase. I didn't see anything wrong with her initial one, "sidekick", but since she asked, I gave her "guapo", which is Spanish for "handsome". Could lead to some hilarious contexts, especially if she doesn't know the meaning herself. I can be mischievous sometimes.

Image
And again...

Is there a slingshot I have to buy to shoot these things down?

Image
Heh.

Image
Before I take a break, I see a train go by for the first time.

Image
Cole said this to me on the first day, which I didn't take a picture of. It was sort of a "can you blame me?!" moment. Proof of what I was talking about with Hazel.

Image
Hearing Cole and Agent S whistle my new town tune makes me wish the town tune could be bigger so they could whistle more of the song. But ah, then we'd be getting into sharp notes...

Image
Yes, Queenie, I know.

Image
Aw...

Image
...Do they?

Image
...

Not sure whether to feel jealous or not.

Image
Seems like Peaches is the talk of the town.

Image
Took a look inside Boone's house, and I gotta say, it does feel a little empty compared to other houses. No desert cactus anymore. I guess he sold it to me. I see he's using the scarecrow and wagon wheel that Cole and I gave him yesterday, though.

Image
Seems like Boone's a popular villager too. Him and Queenie, eh?

Image
Image
...I think Agent S is on to something.

I don't actually have the game or a 3DS.

Just commenting that I like it.

It kinda looks like a roullete wheel so it'll be perfect for my gameroom basement.

A day late, but here are the photos for August 14.

Spoiler: click to show
I get up and find some mail. There's one from Peaches with a gift attached. Hmm. It says she's sorry for barging in my house the other day and, while she assumed I was going for a "minimalist" look for my walls, she thought it'd look better with something on it, so she sent me a pot rack to place on it. Cool.

Another letter's from my mom. Huh. Didn't know she existed. Anyway, it basically wishes me luck living on my own and gives me a lawn chair to use. Too bad I can't use furniture outside where it would fit.

And the last one is from Hazel, replying to my greeting mail I sent her the day before. She thanks me and sends me a cuckoo clock. I'll get use out of that.

Now, for actual pictures! I head up to Main Street.

Who's this?

Image
Oh. Digby. Isabelle's twin brother. They aren't identical.

I checked out the showcase, but it contained a whole lot of nothing. I only activated StreetPass today, after all.

Image
All right, second time someone's asked to come over!

Image
Oh, that's fine! I was just about to head to the town hall to do mayoral stuff anyway.

Image
We scheduled it for 12 pm sharp. Gotta remember to be at my house by then.

Image
Hazel's all moved in, out and about, and still using that catchphrase.

Image
Ooh, a chance to get some artwork for the museum!

Image
Now this is a girl who knows her seller.

So, I am now officially registered to do the stuff mayors do. Looks like that involves setting up public works projects and changing ordinances. It's too costly for me to establish an ordinance right now (20,000 Bells per change), so I'll get my first PWP started. I thought of starting with the cheapest (the bench), but taking the advice of everyone here, I've decided to put up the campsite first.

Image
Heh. Lloid. Love that name.

Looks like setting up the campsite lot got rid of a pear tree, so I planted a new one. Which reminds me, I gotta get a watering can, 'cause flowers are wilting left and right on me and I can't do a darn thing about it.

Let's see if the Nooklings have one today...

Image
Drat.

Image
Meeting Lyle.

Image
Oh geez. Count my house out.

Image
Image
... R-r-really?!

Image
Wow! That Ultra Machine really is ultra! ...In a different way.

Image
I feel lucky. Especially since all it took was a prize ticket during the fireworks show last Saturday.

Image
Somebody's moving in next door to me. Gaston... Now, when I hear that name, I think the villainous jerk from Beauty and the Beast. Wonder what this Gaston will be like.

Image
Not really, no. We met at your booth during the fireworks show, remember?

Image
Wish I was a little more knowledgeable about art history... Otherwise, I might be able to tell which of these is fake and which isn't.

Image
Oh! This one's familiar! Didn't B-Man show a picture of this one that was fake because the headband was blue instead of red? This one's definitely red. I wager this one's the real one of the bunch. I'll buy it.

Image
It's 12 noon, and my cuckoo clock is reacting. Time for Agent S to show up.

She doesn't walk in immediately, so I think I have to go pick her up or something.

Image
Wait, WHAT?!

Image
Okay, hold on! It's 12 o' clock right now! You and I can still go visit my house! Nothing's stopping you! And aside from the fact that I actually did have caesar salad last night, I was in my house at the right time, and you say I'M the one who didn't show up?!

The gall!

Image
Huh. A bit unusual to see Boone in here.

Image
Ah. This makes sense for him.

Image
Image
Yes. Oh, yes.

Image
Pfft... Hahahahahaha!! Oh, this is too good! Thank heavens for Boone's one-track mind!

Image
Oh. I guess she was actually pretty proud of it. She must think highly of her uni-brow.

Regardless, I was glad to get rid of "uni-wow" and replace it with "pecan".

Image
Image
Why was this not Hazel's catchphrase to begin with?

Image
Aww, looks like somebody's got a little cruuush~ Also, she just walked onto the screen after this dialogue was complete.

Image
Dude, she's right there.

Image
Why not just do it yourself? She's right there!

Image
She's listeniiiing...

So, after a grand total of six steps, I deliver the package to Hazel.

Image
Image
I can see you feigning your surprise, Hazel.

Image
Uh-oh. "Safe" is girl-code for "lame", from what I've picked up.

Image
As a reward for delivery, she gives me...

Image
...I can get pears anywhere in this village. Why do I get one as a reward for a job?

Not all of the day, but before I continue with my exploits, allow me to introduce...

Spoiler: click to show
Image
My sister!

Image
She chose the northwest corner to call home, whereas I'm more in the southeast corner.

Image
Huh. Never knew Boone harbored such ambitions.

Image
My sister also happens to be a starving artist.

She caught this adorable conversation between Timmy and Reese.
Image

Not much else, I'm afraid.

Now we proceed back to...

August 14th - night
Spoiler: click to show
Image
Heh... My sister discovered the pitfall seed I buried on the beach. She thought it was buried treasure and bought a shovel specifically to dig it up and was mad when she found out it was a pitfall. So she buried it in front of my house to get back at me. Too bad I was too clever to fall for her trap!

Image
Image
Image
Something even Boone won't touch. But I still can't imagine Peaches getting mad over anything.

Image
...Whuh?

Image
Like a trash can?!

Image
I almost forgot to report back to Cole about the delivery. Good thing I got on.

Image
Image
...Yeah... Good luck with her, duuude.

Right afterward, I witness my first conversation between two villagers.

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Quite a pickle for Queenie, ain't it? No, I don't mean it that way, Cole...

Hazel mentions the upcoming neighbor, Gaston.

Image
Uh, you did.

Image
I wanted that?

Image
W-well, I never said that, but I could still use one...

Image
I do?

Image
Bu-uh, of course you can!

Image
So I put the fridge in my house and look inside...and I find out it links to all of your storage, like the cabinets and lockers at the train station. No wonder Cole's fridge had...something else in it.

Hoo wee. I've been taking a lot of pictures lately, haven't I? I'm starting to worry I'm stretching the screen too much. Maybe I should cut back a bit.

Anyway, I should get around to answering all of those questions you've asked, B-Man. I'll do that when I'm not exhausted.

all the pictures of your sister are broken.

Also, don't worry about having too many pictures. This is fun. :D

Fixed.

Pictures for yesterday and today! (Or before-yesterday and yesterday since it's past midnight here, be quiet.)

August 15th
Spoiler: click to show
It's the start of my fifth day in Wescoast.

Image
Hm. Do I have a tan?

Image
Ah, the perfect pear tree, which I planted on my first day, have fully bloomed. Er, fruited. Whatever.

Also, I see that Gaston's house next door is fully built. Let's see who he is.

Image
Ah, it's too early. Well, at least I can tell he's a cranky villager. Wescoast doesn't have one like that yet.

Now it's Boone's turn to take a look in my house.

Image
Well, that's relieving to know!

Image
Wow. Boone is teaching me things about muscles I never thought I'd know.

Image
Uh, no.

Image
I always like it when the villagers respond to exactly what you're thinking.

Image
You praise my house too highly, Boone.

Image
Oh, hardy har.

Image
They have a class for that?

Well, thus ends Boone's visit. I then take my newly-delivered painting from Redd to the museum.

Image
Whaaaaaaaaat?!?

...Well, there goes my faith in my deduction skills.

Image
Interesting.

Image
Out of the limited choices I was given, I picked sunflower.

Image
Image
Peaches always knows how to cheer me up.

Image
Hm... Should I pay off the campsite first, or my loan? New villagers, or a bigger house?

I spent some time in the town hall designing a flag for Wescoast. I'd show it, but I want to save it for when I answer B's question about the town flag. Or was that one of the Daily posts? Hm...

Image
After some consideration, I went ahead and paid off my loan, which was cheaper. At least others can chip in on the PWP, and I can't be welcoming new villagers with a puny house, can I? I have an image to build!

Later, Gaston's awake.

Image
Oh, it's...you.

I remember this guy. He was one of the villagers who moved into my original village on the Gamecube. I never thought too highly of him. Still, my town needs a cranky villager...

Image
Agent S has me deliver a shirt for Boone. It...well...

Image
At least Boone never stops being awesome.

Image
A well-thought-out statement.

Later, I indulge in my old tree-shaking habits and knock down another beehive. As usual, I start running pell-mell for the nearest building, but this time I trip and the bees catch me.

Image
Not fun!

Image
Image
Oh, ha ha, so funny. I don't exactly want to stay this way for the next two months.

Image
Image
Image
Peaches is ever the sympathetic one.

Image
Maybe I can cover up the bee sting with something from Labelle's shop...like this fencing mask.

Image
...Actually, I think this makes me look even scarier.

Well, let's see how Tom Nook reacts to my face!

Image
Image
Ah, of course. He's too professional to loose his cool.

Image
You could say that, yes. Time to get the next expansion!

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
I can just imagine Agent S looking at me and shaking her head throughout this conversation.

Image
Oh, looks like I caught Hazel sleeping. I bet with my face I'd give her one rude awakening.

Image
Oh, is she dreaming of being a heroine?

Image
...No reaction to my face?

Image
Ah, just too tired to pay attention, I guess.

Image
Oh, so now she notices.

After a conversation, she gives me medicine (yay) and tells me something interesting: if you have a net, you should be fine against bees. I didn't think it would be that helpful. Gotta keep that in mind.

Image
...You mean the one I persuaded you to buy in Re-Tail? Uh, yeah, that was me you were shopping with. Hazel hadn't even moved in by that time!

August 15th - my sister
Spoiler: click to show
I'm the younger sister of this guy here. Here's a bit of my side of the story in the other part of town.

Image
That would probably be a bad first impression if someone said that to you in real life. Here, they've got the excuse of being adorable while doing it, even with a uni-brow.

Image
My brothers abode. Apparently he's already made plenty of memories here. Too bad I'll be going to school soon and won't have much time too.

Image
Image
Image
The new guy that moved in meets the new girl who moved in just before him. I also recognize him from the gamecube cover of my Animal Crossing game way back in the day. He's nicer than I expected. Also when I went back on that game not too long ago, I was gone for a total of 87 months. I can't believe I forgot all the money I had stashed around and finally got a second floor. Also he sounds like an NPC character from Okami.

Image
Are you thinking we're enemies?

Image
Well, I've seen your place already thanks to my brother, but I see you got his watermelon table.

Image
When you're trying to hide something Boone, the smart thing to do is not bring it up.

Image
You're the one who invited me buddy! Besides, you're theme is clearly western, aka the past. Unless you're implying western is the future.

Image
I want to make a good impression if I want us to not get off to a rocky start, but I want to be honest too. I rated it to where it was okay.

Image
I find this funny, he can't take criticism can't he.

Image
Image
I think I just reinforced his furniture searching spree.

Image
As smooth as ever brolady.

Image
Image
An interesting topic from the norm, I chose the one and only baked potato.

Image
Duh, you know it gurl!

Image
I'm liking Hazel more and more.

Image
You can do that? Just by themselves I mean.

Image
Okay, I don't think Tom Nook would approve the idea. It would be over a million in debt then I'm sure.

Image
So the rumors do circulate around huh. Looks like my freshman mayor of a brother is still needing to gain the trust of the people. That means I could spread the seeds of doubt and conjure up a revolution, or a friendly protest in the very least. It would be fun and different from the normal routine anyways.

Image
Spoil my fun why don'tcha.

August 16th
Spoiler: click to show
Image
Gaston's out.

Image
Katrina! I'll have to pay her a visit.

Image
I have spaaaaaaaace! Now I can consider my home on par with every other villager!

Now, while I'm here, I believe it's high time I wrote a letter to Agent S about that...misunderstanding from two days ago. I didn't like what she said, but above all else, I just want us to be cool.

Image
Dang, these new people are just moving in one after another! This one's just south of my sister's tent.

Image
Ah, old mayor Tortimer is here!

Image
Image
Awesome! I've been wondering for a while how to get to the island.

Image
I wonder what he considers a hefty sum...

Image
Peaches has an artistic curiosity.

Image
Sable actually turns her head to me after so long of simply dismissing me.

Image
Image
Image
It's little touches like this that make me love this game.

Image
This pink zap helmet actually produces fanfare when you put it on. Awesome.

Image
I ate a perfect pear and I'm feeling the bliss.

Image
What? Really? Nooo... I think you're better than that, Queenie.

Image
Thank you!

Image
Wait, what?

Image
Agent S gives me some clothing after I catch a pondskater for her, and her additional comment eases off the pain of her accusation two days ago. High praise, coming from an agent!

Image
What, that I'm a freshman mayor?

Image
I knew it!!

Image
Hrrrrrmmmph...

I really need to get to work on my image.

Image
Really? Do I look good in this? This is the yellow tartan tee, by the way. I feel it really brings out the tan in my face.

Image
I visit Katrina, and she speaks spooky mumbo-jumbo at me.

Image
I am?

Image
Yes, please!

Image
Image
...Whooaa...

Image
Image
...Eep!

Image
...Huh?

Image
...Gotta get me a cute top.

Image
...What, you mean the yellow tartan tee? That's lucky?

...I guess I'll be wearing it for the rest of the day, then...

Image
Image
So ends my ethereal first visit to Katrina's.

Image
"Friend" is underplaying it a bit, but yeah, sure.

Image
Image
...As a brother, I'm naturally protective of my sister and I'm a little cautious about guys who want to get close to her... But at least it's nice to see she's being well received.

Image
Why not?

Image
...

A heart appeared over her head when she said that.

Uh...how do I reject this nicely? There's only a "yes" option and a "no" option. Well, considering the bad blood we gave each other over that house-visiting incident, I didn't really want to do anything to worsen things between us, so I told her it was "fantastic".

Image
Please don't let the other villagers know about this...

Image
Queenie's turn now!

Image
Wow, you got to know him that quickly?

Image
Nah. Too rich for me.

Image
Woo-hoo. Having no matching furniture actually has its perks.

Image
I also visited Boone's house this day...and found out that he really values this tumbleweed... Strange...

Image
Wow, two in one day.

Image
So I let her see my house too. Nothing eventful happened.

Freya asks to visit my house pretty frequently. I think some villagers are more likely to ask to come to your house than others.

I don't think I've ever had Dizzy visit my house, which is a shame because he's one of my favorites.
