By the events of Super Mystery Dungeon, Ty has taken full responsibility of the Rescue/Exploration Team since B now has other matters to attend to (he didn't just leave simply because he dreamed of opening a theater but I'll get to that later). As Ty matured, he became far leas timid and grew to be a fairly capable leader, probably even better than B was, and this is reflected in the fact that he has evolved into his final form. I feel it gives him a more commanding look, but it does come with a downside; Namely, some find him to actually be too scary. He tries to keep a smile when dealing with pleasantries, though it doesn't always work.
The idea was always to make Ty look rugged when he got older, since he did always want to be intimidating for those who read my comics, which ultimately grew into given him a sort of ripped up jacket and rider gloves. I through a few ideas around, such as a longcoat but I didn't want to cover up his iconic bandanna/scarf he's had since the very start. I do wonder if this really fits though, or if I'm trying to hard with the whole "looking intimidating" feel.
As for the drawing itself, it was pretty fun to do, though the limbs were ultimately the trickiest part, especially doing the cross arm look, something I've never been able to do successfully. It wasn't until I started actually looking at how real people cross their arms that I was finally starting to understand what I was supposed to do, but it may have been too little too late in this case. Maybe next time. Messed up the eye a bit (Typhlosion eyes tend to be relatively small compared to their head) but everything I tried never did look right from this angle. I'm afraid I may have made him too anthropomorphic as well, which was never the intention. I took a look at a few .gifs from the series to try to better understand and the fundamental thing I feel I missed was the fact that they tend to be slightly more hunched over. I'll need to go back try again I feel. I don't think it looks
bad per se, just that it isn't what I was looking for exactly in terms of anatomy.
