Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is right around the corner, so I thought I'd share my favorite version of one of my favorite songs from Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

I feel like Punch-Out songs were made for metal covers.

Image Gosh, between the Affinity Chart Connection Orb, Chain Attacks Alliance Attacks, and now Colony 9's Theme the Sand Continent's Theme, I swear this game is just trying very hard to make me super stoked.

For comparisons, listen here.

Well, Metal Gear Solid as we know it is over. Man, that was one hell of a ride.

Live Version right here

Image Listening to so much PSMD music, so to not make numerous posts about each individual track, is a pick of some of the favourites I've encountered:

This dungeon is very soft and somber. Almost has a sense of lost magic to it.

This dungeon reminds me of some GBA RPGs I've played before. Reminds me of some lost ruins/civilization.

This one starts off kinda slow with its didgeridoos...but then kicks it immensely rather quickly with some sort of Irish dance ballad! Amazing!

And this one sounds very much like a "final dungeon" kind of feel, epic and climatic. If it isn't the one just before the final story boss, I imagine it's at least very close. Adore it!

Undertale is video game.

It's a video game I liked! *scandalous*

It's not perfect or the greatest thing ever like some people will declare but you should give a gander.

Often considered one of the hardest songs in Guitar Hero and Rock Band...and I'm learning it on real guitar.

This'll take a while.

You all can enjoy your heartfelt battle themes. I'm just going to chill over there and do nothing.

One more Undertale tune for the pile.

Image Let's get spoopy! Got something that gives you the willies?

Because of my clinical cynophobia, this one really, really makes me feel uncomfortable...at least until the very end.

Image For Day 2, we got something for the original Resident Evil.

It's quite a thing to hear this piece. It really gets you going, but you know what? The area it plays in isn't even that dangerous with nothing but a few easy to avoid zombies (maybe a spider too, can't remember, been a while). Since you would have been introduced to things like the Hunter at this point, seeing such old enemies is almost refreshing, making the music seem almost misplaced.

Don't worry, this got "fixed" in re-releases. Now this is the stuff of nightmares...for music fans.

ahaha oh my god, that piece. Wow. Makes me glad I tracked down the Dualshock Director's Cut is something special for the wrong reasons, that soundtrack is just bad.

from what I recall, spiders were only in the remake's dungeon. meanwhile, to add to B...

Image Not much else to say other than I particularly like this theme playing as I quest.

Image I'm a big fan of fan remixes that try to sound more orchestral than most.

Image Oh? This song...

Image Isn't it great? It's like a march that gets you really pumped up for adventure! It's like,

Image "It's a wide world out there!! And you should never give up on your dreams!"

Image Oh yes! This is definitely a fitting theme for us, The Explorateurs!

Image Listening to more of the soundtrack from those kids' grand adventure, the Road to Primeval Forest is particularly nice. I particularly love it around the 1:48 mark.

You have no idea how happy I was to hear this being remastered. It actually sounds like the original now.
